In 2024, while collaborating with senior designer and project manager Friedrich Söllner on a project for the Volkswagen brand, I had the privilege of taking on a leading design role to contribute to the integration of AI within the vehicle. As part of the Volkswagen Group Future Center Europe, our mission was to craft a seamless user journey across multiple touchpoints, ensuring that AI enhanced the user experience before, during, and after the ride without overwhelming users, especially during critical driving tasks.

My particular role involved creating comprehensive user journeys in collaboration with multiple departments within the Volkswagen Group, developing UX concepts tailored to the needs of diverse target users, rapid prototyping in Figma, and conducting qualitative user tests to gather actionable insights from these lo-fi prototypes. I also contributed to the visual design and prototype development phases of the project, ensuring that design ideas were both functional and impactful.

One of the key challenges was striking the right balance—introducing innovative and research based AI features while maintaining simplicity and clarity, and avoiding unnecessary cognitive load for users. This required iterative design processes and a deep understanding of user behaviors and expectations in complex driving scenarios.

Due to ongoing non-disclosure agreements, I am unable to share detailed information about the specific design processes, research methodologies, or concepts explored during the project.
