UX and Visual Design for In-Car Experiences

At Volkswagen Group Future Center Europe, I had the pleasure of being part of numerous projects spanning various brands within the Volkswagen Group. Our primary mission was to conceptualise cutting-edge in-car experiences, grounded in user data and expert assessments. This meant consistently brainstorming innovative ideas aimed at elevating the driving and charging experiences for our customers.
My role extended to the practical realisation of these concepts. I was responsible for creating animations and interactive prototypes for the user interface, often presenting these to the board. These prototypes were instrumental in helping our team visualise and rigorously test our ideas.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to build visual design systems from scratch, using powerful tools like Figma and Sketch. These systems played a pivotal role in maintaining design consistency and ensuring the overall visual appeal of our work throughout the development process.
Collaboration was central to our approach. We regularly conducted user studies to gain deep insights into evolving customer needs and fine-tune our designs accordingly. Documentation and management of user requirements were also integral to my role.
Lastly, I actively participated in creative sessions, providing valuable opportunities to receive feedback on our concepts and engage in productive idea exchanges with our team. My time at Volkswagen Group Future Center Europe was characterised by a commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and crafting user-centered experiences that anticipate the needs of tomorrow's drivers.
